"My work is particular in the sense that much of the creativity and intuition happens way before I actually start to paint. I first conceive an idea of the colors and the general references, how each piece will connect with the previous one, etc. Then I put together as much visual material as I can, to finally decide on every single choice of photographic references, formats, materials. Then it’s a matter of hands on nonstop drawing and painting, with very few little changes along the way. If I realize something could be improved on, I finish what I’m working on and leave the changes for the next round of ideas. That keeps me moving."
