I am a Hungarian painter, living and working in Manhattan, New York. I participate in many shows and exhibitions that feature my paintings and my work can be found in corporate and private collections.
Signs and symbols collected throughout my travels are a great source of inspiration to me. Designs of primitive tools, organic shapes and objects used in everyday life inspire me.
I have developed my own unique technique and style through the use of innovative materials such as purified beeswax, encaustic pigments and oil paint. My technique and application involves pouring a layer of wax onto the wooden panel. Once the wax hardens, I scrape and scrub it into a smooth surface on which I paint. In this process, I use tools such as razor blades, putty knifes and rubber brushes.
My paintings create an optical illusion of vibrant space. Since beeswax and oil paint do not blend there is a subliminal tension between them. One is unconsciously drawn to the sensuality of the underlying surface. My work conveys an illusive sense of spirituality by reason of the tension between their sensual surface and the abstract figures.
